                           HOW TO PRODUCE HANDKERCHIEF IN NIGERIA

Starting a handkerchief business in Nigeria requires careful planning, market research, and attention to detail.

Handkerchief has 3 basic sizes that can be made. Small, standard size and large.

arrow yellowsmall size is 10 by 12 inches. The standard size is 15 by 16 inches. It can be slightly bigger or smaller depending on the material. The large is measured 20 by 22 or 20 by 20 inches. It is the one most people tie on their head. This one is usually best with coloured textiles not white. Note that, handkerchiefs don't usually have perfect square as their size but if you desire it that way, you are free.

Weaving and Sewing: After the measurements and cutting, the next stage is to hold the edges. For the weaving, you will need to give it to a Taylor if you don’t have the machine. After that, you trim off the unwanted parts or robes.

What matters is the texture. It has to be pure cotton material that can absorb heat. It can be colours with beautiful designs like shirt material.

 Ironing and Packaging: Next is ironing. Just like you iron your clothes, do the same to the handkerchief but fold it in a way that it can be presentably arranged in the nylon for packaging. Put your label if you have one. Tie with ribbon and arrange them in nylon.

Identify Target Market: Determine your target audience, such as individuals, corporate organizations, hotels, schools, or fashion retailers. Understanding their preferences and needs will help you tailor your products accordingly.

 Competitor Analysis: Conduct thorough research to identify existing handkerchief brands, their pricing strategies, quality, and distribution channels. This analysis will assist you in positioning your brand uniquely.

a. Fabric Selection: Decide on the type of fabric you want to use for your handkerchiefs, such as cotton, linen, silk, or a blend.
