Cleaning and Curing a Raw Cow Horn: Cleaning and curing are
essential steps that are needed before you use a raw cow horn.
Typically, when you buy a finished cow horn, it is already
cleaned, cured and sealed as part of the manufacturing process.

To cure a raw horn you would first, soak it for about an hour in
hot water mixed with dish soap. Once done, scrub it with a
bottle brush and rinse it.
To remove any unwanted odor or smell, you can use a mixture of
50 percent of water and 50 percent of pharmaceutical alcohol.
Let the solution soak for 24 hours. Keep checking the horn in
between and top it off with more solution if you see any getting
soaked in the horn. Rinse your horn after 24 hours.
